China reveals censorship rules for console games
The government of China has issued a list of rules in order to suppress unacceptable parts in console games and it is reasonably large and will greatly influence numerous games in the country. A press release transcribed by Games in Asia summarized the rules, which appeared after China raised its prohibition for fourteen years regarding the console games.
The culture department of Shanghai government needs to validate all the games and the validation process should be done within twenty days.
According to the report of Games in Asia, the games that didn’t pass in the validation process will be brought back with basis for their refusal clearly stated. The developer of the game are generally allowed to change and resubmit their games if they want to. The report doesn’t put out any particular game examples that would not able to pass, however, they need to consider that controversial game like Grand Theft Auto V would not be denied.
The new rules in console games of China also mentioned that the updates of the game like DLC must presented for validation although the major game in a form of question was already accepted. This is an important and possibly critical point when you rate how many times other games are updated now.
The raising of China in the prohibition of console games for a long time would seem to be a benefit for policy makers like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. But it is still visible what influence it will give on the company’s luck. The console ban in China started in year 2000; following concerns regarding the possible physical and mental damage it could bring to children.
