The most important part in raising a child is teaching them moral values. Parents want the best for their children and they may even dream to become a successful person, talented, and attractive but nothing compares to the goodness of their behavior. Children who don’t have self-discipline, dishonest, unkind and not diligent, it is possible that their mankind will lessen.

There are many characteristics to actively encourage the child practice the moral values. The characteristics are honesty, loyalty and generosity. Living their life as being friendly, respectful, courageous and peaceful are also important make them good individuals.

Morality also comes from respect. Parents should be able to show respect to their children if they want their children do the same way for them. To discipline means showing respect and imitate self-control, kindness and making judgments free from discrimination. As children grow, parents should ask and think carefully about their perspective when applying the rules and consequences.

Moral development in children is a gradual process. These phases have an underlying basis in a fixed attachment and fundamental trust which begins from preschool levels up to the time they reached the adult period. These developmental stages in children requires how parents teach them what is right and wrong that they take as they are getting more mature. These stages have its theory and purpose of what are the right and wrong things to do and to make the children realize why it is important to focus on the good.
