The first opening of Megamall last 1991 of SM Megamall on Edsa in the Ortigas district, kept the record for being the largest shopping mall in the Philippines within seventeen years. From that time, the shopping behavior and lifestyle of the Filipinos were never the same again.
The emergence of shopping activities came about and people took to the huge pattern to shop and dine, run a business, contract signing, attend Mass or simply having a leisurely walk on its wide hallway just to have window shopping.
Megamall overturns the SM North Edsa record and recovers its place as the largest mall in the Philippines as it makes access yet another exceptionally large structure, taking the new wing as a center for international brands and high class restaurant ideas.
The shopping mall even drawn its signature enclosed ice skating area rebuild it into an Olympic-sized ice skating and has an additional few recreation attractions like the 14-lane bowling alley, first IMAX theater, 56-seater Directors’ Cinema Club, and classy food court.
The Mega Fashion Hall which includes 150,000 m2 to Megamall’s 392,000 m2 floor area has a five-level mall and two-level basement parking area.
