Genetic engineering presents a serious damage to the variety of life in the world or in a particular habitat or ecosystem as well as to human health. Giving an end to huger is not the main reason of the development of genetic engineering rather to increase the overwhelming control biotech company operating in several countries particularly of food production.
The genetic engineering cotton and papaya in China already started developed and GE rice was on the extreme edge of authorization. This would have been a catastrophe: it doesn’t only mean a health risk of 1.3 billion populations; it would have risked the morality of the primitive pressure of rice in China.
Today, papaya in South China and cotton are the only crops available for business of GE in China. However, China was also on the boundary of accepting GE rice, the major attached food eaten by 1.3 billion all over the country.
GE corn already received a biosafety certification. There are only insufficient seed experiments; registrations and authorization before they are allowed to run a business and market. There’s no need for additional obligatory food and environmental safety research.
The pressure of GE rice in China have foreign license. This means that China would be placing the income of millions farmers as well as the food security and food authority in the hands of companies from several foreign countries.
