Population explosion has become a grave problem of the present world with the resources of the planet getting limited for the sustenance of the living beings. It has resulted mainly due to drastic increase in the difference between rate of birth and rate of death in the past 100 years. The human population is expected to one billion in the next decade. The population of the planet has already reached such a level that the world has started suffering from shortage of basic resources like water, food and fuel.

This problem is more prominent in less developed and developing countries which are already tussling with scarce resources for its people.

Population explosion has led to increased usage of intensive agriculture practiced in various parts of the world for producing food by using chemical fertilizers, insecticides and pesticides. It has certainly increased the quantity of production to give food to every mouth, but has also become a threat to the environment due to excessive use of chemicals.
